TITLE: Photography Intern
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager & Marketing/Group Sales Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
STATUS: Unpaid Internship; Schedule is Event Driven
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Photograph during all events at the General Motors Centre, such as concerts, family shows, sporting events and more
- Day of event photography may include photographing the performer, fans, meet and greets, building set-up, pre-event parties, dinner packages, group parties and more
- Photograph all marketing events at the General Motors Centre, such as press conferences, contests, media interviews, event on sale dates and more
- Attend and photograph all out-of-office promotions and initiatives with the marketing team
- Participate in brainstorming sessions
- Assist in updating and maintaining department photography databases and spreadsheets
- Assist with the maintenance of social networking sites (Facebook, Eventful, Twitter)
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a full-time program, at an accredited College or University, studying Photography or Journalism
- Applicants must have extensive experience photographing a variety of subjects, and must own their own Digital SLR Camera
- Applicants must be able and willing to provide a portfolio at the time of the interview
- Possess excellent people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with the general public, other interns, and co-workers
- Must be available to work flexible hours; shifts include those scheduled during the regular work week, in addition to, all special events at the General Motors Centre
- Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills
- Be proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to conduct all interactions in a positive, professional manner
- Be proficient in using all Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Adobe Photoshop a plus
